What Is Blue Light?
Blue light is part of the visible light spectrum that is harmful in high doses. This type of light is emitted from digital screens such as phones, laptops and televisions, and results in tired, overworked eyes. Blue light is shown to deplete melatonin levels while often causing premature aging of the eyes, resulting in blurred or limited vision.

The full visible light spectrum is between 380 and 780nm. Blue light is visible light with a wave length between 415 and 455 nanometers (nm). This type of light is seen blue in color but also can be present when it is seen white or other colors. Blue light is more damaging because it has more energy per photon of light than other colors in the visible spectrum, affecting our bodies on a cellular level, but especially our eyes. Over-exposure to blue light can disrupt our circadian rhythms (when we wake up and fall asleep), and it affects our bodies in a way that can have negative health effects.
