Introducing our new blue light blocking lenses
KITS ScreenTime
What is blue light? Blue light is part of the visible light spectrum that is harmful in high doses. This type of light is emitted from digital screens such as phones, laptops and televisions. Blue light is shown to deplete melatonin levels and can lead to trouble falling asleep at night. There is also evidence that suggests blue light can cause premature aging of the eyes, resulting in blurred or no vision.
How are we affected by blue light?
Did you know the average person spends around 10 hours per day staring at a screen? And now with all the extra time working and learning at home, that number has steadily increased. Whether it's video calls for work or class, Netflix binges, gaming and social media, your extra screen time contributes to extra exposure to blue light. While the work is necessary and the distractions are fun, the levels of blue light result in tired, overworked eyes.
