Frequently Asked Questions

Think of direct billing like your insurance company giving you an instant discount on your new prescription glasses and contacts! Instead of paying the whole amount yourself and waiting to be reimbursed later, we work with your insurance provider directly. We'll figure out your coverage, and you only pay the remaining balance. It's that easy! 😊

Yes, absolutely! We love making things easy. Just bring your insurance info and your matching prescription to our KITS store, and we'll handle the rest.

Unfortunately, we can't offer direct billing on Autoship orders just yet, but we're actively working on it! In the meantime, here's what you can do:

  • To keep Autoship: Place your order as usual and submit a claim to your insurance provider afterward.
  • For direct billing now: Unselect the Autoship option at checkout and we'll process your insurance claim directly.

We will process your insurance coverage and apply it to your order total. If your insurance coverage does not completely cover the cost of your order, you will be responsible for paying the remaining amount.

  • TELUS Health eClaims insurance partners: We can't access your full insurance coverage details. Check your health insurance benefits before you shop, so you know which products are eligible and what you're covered for.
  • GreenShieldTM: Login to your GreenShieldTM account to check your available coverage.
  • RBC InsuranceTM: Login to your RBC InsuranceTM account to check your available coverage.

A lot of providers or plans can cover prescription sunglasses or in some cases even sunglasses that have UV protection. You may also be eligible for reimbursement if you have a valid prescription specifically for sunglasses from your eye doctor.

As always, please make sure to check the details of your coverage with your insurance provider beforehand, so you know what's covered and how much you may be required to pay yourself.

We do accept FSA (flexible spending) and HSA (health spending) credit cards as payment during the regular checkout process.

If you tried to use a FSA or HSA card on our website and it did not go through, please try calling the number on the back of the card. Let them know you are in the process of placing an order for prescription eyewear or contact lenses and that these are a medical device. This process is sometimes done to verify that you are using your card to purchase approved products.

They will then allow the system to accept your next transaction on our website. Alternatively, you can use a regular credit card to pay and we can provide you with the information required for reimbursement as outlined above.

Prescription eyecare is usually eligible. While we won't be able to deal directly with your insurance provider, we will provide you with everything you require to submit a reimbursement claim for your purchase as outlined above.

Alternatively, you can use your FSA (flexible spending) or HSA (health spending) credit card to pay directly on our site. Don't forget, FSA dollars expire if you don't use them all!

Please make sure to check the details of your coverage with your insurance provider beforehand, so you know what's covered and how much you may be required to pay yourself.
